In this frame building, Eugene J. Gissy operated a drug store and resided in the adjoining residence. After moving to his new store, the original location was occupied by many businesses, including The Fashion House, King's Beauty Shop, State Farm Insurance Company, Little Augie's Pizza and Albers Painting Company.

When Mr. Gissy moved into his new building, the business became known as Gissy Rexall Drug Store. An ice cream and fountain soda business was conducted in the east section of the drug store.
